The Harland Script – Part 6 of my Online Journey

My first Traffic Exchange

Hi Again! Click HERE for Part 5 of the story in case you missed it.

So it’s June 2004 and I’ve got a new domain (10khits4unow), a Traffic Exchange script (Harland Script), 2 partners (one for systems, one for programming), and lots of followers from the 10khits4u experiment. The programs were run as separate entities and pages were still being hand created. Here is what the lead capture page look in September of 2004.

Stop surfing for credits!

Note the removal of the banner on top but the addition of the Members Area, Recommended Biz Opp, A discussion forum, and a contact link. The members area linked to the Traffic Exchange but the issue was the pages still had to be hand made. In case you’re wondering, there is a link below the fold that rotated the pages that were created. This was my page because, and as the owner, I wanted to get help my loyal followers. Their pages had a form in the same area versus the rotator link. This was the precursor to building your list before the owner’s. The challenge was to make this HOT Page self replicating and merge both programs into one entity. Tune in next week to see how that went down as we walk down memory lane and enter the way back machine again.

Cultivating an Idea – Part 5 of my Online Journey

Hi Again! Click HERE for Part 4 of the story if you missed it.

So out of the mouth of Mr. Burke and into my mind…………”build your list first before building someone else’s” had me intrigued. So I did some due diligence and found something online called the 10000 hits system. It was a simple page that asked for name and email address, and then you were emailed a page that listed various “traffic” programs. You joined them and then promoted your page which was the same as the one you opted into. The owner made your page for you and the others in the system. He also would show you how you could “host” pages for others. I ran with this for a while but then found if you let the “owner” do the hosting he would then have the ability to sell to your new customer; so I figured it was best for me to break away and do the page making. I built huge downlines with this concept; but never really appreciated the list portion of this as it was a free and very limited form of today’s autoresponder.

By 2004 I was toying with the idea of becoming a program owner. In January the primitive 10000 hits for you system was re-branded as 10khit4u.com, my first domain! I forget who I was hosting with, and I also can’t recall the autoresponder though it may have been TrafficWave. The picture shown above is that very page, courtesy of the Internet Archive Wayback Machine. Click HERE to see 10khits4u.com back in the day. If this was a revamp, imagine how ugly the original was? LOL You can look at progressions and see the evolution as it did improve visually in the following months. Sorry the original pic image of me is not available but easy enough to find if you’d like or you can wait till next week.

This is the lower portion of the page. Definitely before I learned about having your form above the fold and eventually everything compacted on 1 page for best results. There is a lot to glean off this and what a HIGH for me to find this as I try to recall the stops along the journey. Here are some points of interest:

  1. The banner at the top is from Moneylegs, courtesy of Affiliate Marketing pioneer and mentor Doug Williams. You’ll here more about him later.
  2. This page was all over the traffic exchanges. The idea as to get the surfer to stop and learn how to make best use of this new and exciting resource.
  3. Power surfing was done using Crazy Broswer, my first introduction to tabbed surfing meaning surfing 10/12/15 or more at one time by moving from tab to tab as the timers ended. Since it was a manual process, the owners could not stop the usage of it and I was teaching the crap out of it.
  4. If you built downlines in TEs, you got credit rewards from their surfing. This is how the word viral got linked into traffic exchange and viral mailer jargon. Throw in a couple of income streams and now we had earning potential with all of this.

I got thousands of leads from this in a 6 month period; but the work was getting overwhelming as I had to hand build pages for each member of my team and host the pages for them. It was simple stuff, 10khits4u.com was me; then you’d have 10khits4u.com/joeg; 10khits4u.com/tammye; etc. With the money I was earning from the income streams (believe it or not I did not charge for the build/hosting; you paid by joining programs and upgrading) I was ready to purchase a script and launch the concept on a bigger stage (June 2004). More about that next week…

My Primary Business

Hey Friends!

As an Affiliate Marketer, I get asked all the time. Hey Rob, What’s your Primary Business? As they say in Facebook Relationship Status, “It’s Complicated!”

As you can see from the Graphic, it begins with your personal capture page. So in my opinion, your primary business is YOU! Yes, it’s not Widget INC or Pillsandpotions Dot Com. So I would have to say mine is RobGehring.com (Yes, that is clickable.) Note the Personal Capture Page that’s below the video; that is where my traffic is going to go. It hits my autoresponder where a relationship begins to be build via my email series. Then my followers can visit my Blog, check out my Facebook Profile, etc.

Since I own Trafficleads2incomeVM, yes, that is my primary business (after me). Beyond that, it becomes my close Partners like Jon Olson of ClickTrackProfit and Janet Legere from CLBLearning. These are my modern day mentors, and I’m so glad to have them in my marketing life. We work well together, and are linking to each others stuff which makes the bond tighter.

So, to recap. Your primary business is you, the site you own, then your recommended resources from your trusted partners. Promote YOU first, then it trickles down into your site/recommended resources. It’s just that simple. Hope this helped!

Self Accountability

http://www.robgehring.com

Hi Friends!

My challenge in blogging is daily content. More so now that my content is hitting the Blockchain now with my wordpress content moving into the CTPTalk platform then being carried on Steemit. If you have a wordpress blog, please look into the Steempress plug in then get with me in any of my contact methods for how to put this all together into a crypto currency accumulation system and ultimately an income stream for your affiliate marketing business.

So, now for Self Accountability. As I was posting in the CLB, CTP, and TL2IVM Telegram groups I found myself using the word accountability over and over again. We get a lot of new people in these groups, so I hear things like…

“Ok, I’ll try…”

“I’m afraid to talk to people…”

“I don’t like to see myself on video…”

Now, we must make everyone understand that if you come to an accountability group, you will be held accountable. I am not your boss, I do not pretend to be. I am a mentor, a coach, a friend, a guide. What I will do however is tell you what you don’t want to hear. I am not a yes man. I will not work to make you feel good in spite of giving good advice. I will tell you the truth. I will be nice about it, and positively constructive.

Here are my answers to the 3 examples:

“Ok, I’ll try…” Yoda says don’t try, do. Say you’ll do it, and if you fail somehow it won’t be for a lack of trying. The first step in accountability is putting your goal out to yourself and your peers. Follow up then is key, but that is for another blog on another day.

“I’m afraid to talk to people…” You must then be afraid of success and afraid of rejection perhaps? Perhaps you are afraid to step out of your comfort zone. So I give you the NIKE advice, just do it!!!!

“I don’t like to see myself on video…” You will always be your hardest critic. Ask and get feedback and then continue to practice and perfect. A bad video is better than no video.

In conclusion, it is not me or any other mentor that makes this all happen. It is YOU. The power is YOU and it starts with holding yourself accountable in the accountability groups. So make your declarations and go out and do it! 🙂

Updated Payment Options at Trafficleads2incomeVM

Well, today is the day that we have been talking about. Paypal is now removed as a payment option on new purchases at Trafficleads2incomeVM. You can pay with Firepay which allows you to use CTP Tokens, Credit Cards, and a handful of other crypto currencies. For a more comprehensive list of cryptos, you can use coinpayments. Finally, you can use your accumulated commissions as well.

I am parting with Paypal on good terms. All current subscriptions are grandfathered, meaning they are good until they are cancelled. If you would like to try one of the new options, simply cancel your existing subscription and re-do using one of the new options.

For the genesis of all of this, please click here and read this article. Next, after the writing of that article I did a 2 Part Facebook Live. Part one is HERE and Part two is HERE. Sorry about the technical problems. If you fast forward through the breaks you will get to see and hear all the content. I think I fixed my issues with Windows 10 and Chrome or at least I have them on the run!

In conclusion, these changes are important because the future of affiliate marketing is in the crypto currencies like Bitcoin, Steem, and the CTP Token. My partnership with CTP has taught me this and I had to put myself in the shoes of my site owner friends and other affiliate marketers who have either lost everything and left affiliate marketing or lost almost everything and had to rebuild. Two examples of the latter are Jon Olson and Janet Legere. So I hope this isn’t too shocking for anyone and being that this is a soft transition away from Paypal should make everyone feel at ease and give time to learn the new wave of coming to affiliate marketing. I suggest you join ClickTrackProfit HERE, then login and click on Training, then Mastery. Scroll down and join Trafficleads2incomeVM and begin your Mastery Training with me; then continue with ClickTrackProfit Training on Crypto Currency, CTP Talk and Steemit, and many other topics which will give you the tools to be a top marketer here in 2020 versus 2000. Trust me, being around so long I had to make change to my mindset. Now I am in a good place and can help you get there too! To your Massive Success!!!
