Completion of My 30 Day Facebook Live Challenge

Well today was the final day of my 30 Day Live Facebook Challenge. As I did not do a Live for 30 Consecutive Days, it obviously took me a bit longer but I got there! Here was today’s Live, simply titled “Why?”

 

Even though I have done videos and public speaking before, it was a great refresher and challenging as the topics were all over the board and I never allowed myself much time to prep. I think the Facebook Live videos are better when they are more natural anyway.

A big thanks to the 30 Day Live Challenge Group, especially Paul, Fran, and Janet who also completed the challenge. The group hopefully will live on, if you would like to be a part of it you can click here. This group is almost better than taking the Dale Carnegie public speaking course. I highly recommend it. Now, it’s time for me to take the skills I learned and apply to my business. That starts, well, now!

Master Your Words to Gain Wealth!

They say the pen is mightier than the sword…

In today’s Daily Shortcut, I’m going to take on the power of words. We are not just talking about the spoken word but the written word as well. Think of Nikola Tesla who you may or may not know had a lot to do with the electricity we enjoy today. Unlike Thomas Edison who was able to convey his vision of the “Electrical Future”, poor Nikola faded into obscurity. So an idea without vision is like a seed without the fertile soil, water, and of course sun light. Another example is a recent movie I saw about Ray Kroc and the McDonalds brothers. The McDonald Brothers had the ideas and the know-how. Ray had the vision. The rest is of course fast food restaurant history. When you fight the vision, someone else gets the glory. So what does this have to do with your business? Well, you may know what you want but not have the vision to get there. Here are some tips to help:

  1. Set Goals

  2. Talk to people who have achieved these goals

  3. Be willing to do whatever it takes to make your goals happen. This is the vision part, and sometimes takes you to uncomfortable places

So this is an important point we are at. Do we think maybe the uncomfortableness is what fades us into obscurity? Don’t follow in the footsteps of Nikola Tesla and the McDonald Brothers. Define your vision today!

Operating with Honor and Integrity

Today I read a blog that inspired me to write this. One of my favorite quotes is about doing the right thing even when no one is watching. To me this is the epitome of honesty and integrity.

In Today’s world, everyone wants everyone to see what they do. You know, the Missouri Syndrome (Show Me!) How about taking time to do something nice for someone and then just move on with your day? Humility is also a great trait, but that will be for another day…
